This last weekend we went for a drive through Shenandoah National Park. It was a nice drive but we were disappointed that the clouds blocked our view of the valley. Before entering the park, we took a tour of a cave. It was so AWESOME!! They had different color lights in the cave to help you see the depth. We went down about 300 ft and it was about a mile walk. The kids did a great job and seemed to enjoyed their visit.

Quiet, Cars & Scooters
I had an "awe" moment yesterday. While I was fixing dinner, all of the sudden I realized that it was quiet.......that's not usually a good thing in my house. If it's quiet for more than 2 minutes, some body is into some thing (ie toothpaste, toilet, etc!) However, yesterday, I looked into the play room and lo and behold, MY CHILDREN WERE QUIETLY PLAYING!!!!! Adelyn & Reese were reading books and Hayden was chewing on something!! I was so amazed I grabbed the camera.......it also helped me savor the moment!!

Here are our race car drivers. I love this picture because Hayden is finally getting big enough to play with the big kids. He is so happy!!

Thank you to the Bookers' for our new scooters!! Reese and Adelyn keep saying, "That's so nice!" It is so nice of them to share with us. Thank you! We even got a moment to ride them when we got home before the rain came! Reese has wanted to wear the helmet and gear all evening. It's like Christmas in Sept! :)

Air & Space Museum
Yesterday, we took a trip out to the Air & Space Museum close to Dulles Airport. It's part of the Smithsonian only an extension of the one in DC. It was so cool to be able to see all the planes and the space shuttle!!
9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon
Brad was honored to be able to attend the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon. He was able to listen to President Bush, Secretary Gates and Former Secretary Rumsfeld speeches. The music was just fabulous. It was all very touching.
Hayden's Fangs
So Hayden is now 10 months old. He weighs 24 lbs 1 oz and is 30 inches long. His vampire teeth teeth came in before his top middle teeth. It look so funny! He also has his four bottom teeth.
Don't worry, no children were hurt during the taking of this picture! :-) He was a good sport. His front middle teeth are poking through now! YEAH!!! I'll be ready when they are all in!!
Joy & Hope
I wanted to take this time to introduced Adelyn's babies, Joy & Hope. Adelyn has been such a good mommy to here babies. It's so much fun to watch her work with them.

Addie loves pushing them in the stroller. We went on a walk last week to meet Daddy at the Metro and she walked with her babies in the stroller.
Hope on left and Joy on right.
Addie is having her snack with her babies.
She uses the yellow box for the babies "potty"!

Reese in Preschool
Reese started preschool! He goes on Wed, Thur, & Fridays from 9am-12pm (except on Wed it's til 1pm for a music class). He has a Buzz backpack and requested to wear his baseball shirt for his first day!

This is Reese's teacher, Mrs. Micky. When I told Reese her name, he kinda laughed and said, "Mickey Mouse?" It was so funny! Mrs. Micky is wonderful....she has three BOYS of her own. Her youngest is Reese's age and is in his Sunday school class.
After picking Reese up from his first day of school, I asked if he had a good day. He replied with, "I pushed." I asked him what Mrs. Micky did and he said she put him in time out. We are working on having AND using gentle hands.
Camping Labor Day Weekend
This Labor Day weekend we went camping with the Schwambs! We had such a great time. They are such an encouraging family to be with and we are so thankful for our time with them.

Everyone helped to get the tent up!
