Happy Birthday Adelyn

After Chuck E. Cheese, we rushed home to put the kids to bed and I began to make the cake. Adelyn changed her mind as to which kind of cake she wanted for her birthday so we went with it. She asked for a castle cake. I found little cards with the Disney Princess on them and then cut them to look like they were looking outside the windows of the castle. I think she changed her mind because we recently went to the National Cathedral and she said it was "her princess castle".

Decorating the Cake

Adelyn woke up and wanted to "help"!!
The final product!
The birthday girl!!
Our family celebrating Adelyn's birth!
Can we eat it yet???
Okay, let's open presents first.

After Adelyn opened her presents, she said, "THANKS GUYS!" Then she gave Reese a big hug!! It was so precious!!!
Thank you God for our little girl, Adelyn, whom you have fearfully and wonderfully made!!

Chuck E. Cheese

On April 27th, Adelyn turned 3 years old. It was fun to wake up and sing Happy Birthday. And we videoed everyone who called to say Happy Birthday to her that day!! Her face lit up to hear everyone sing!! Then we headed out the door to Chuck E. Cheese. The kids had never been so it was a fun treat. We used a coupon that we got online!!

Here are the kids having fun.
Adelyn is with Barney, Reese is on a race car and Hayden is riding with Chuck E. We went at on the perfect day at the perfect time....there was hardly anyone there!!
Not too sure about this rat behind me!

This game was so cute because it was a perfect size for Hayden!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!!!
All the goodies waiting for the kids when they woke up.
Then it was time to get dressed.
We have so many things to be thankful for. Our family is one of the biggest!!!

Seeing the Easter Bunny this morning!! So much fun!

We pray you have a God filled day!!!
Words from the song He is Risen:
O! Let the nations sing the fame
Of Christ the Lamb who once was slain!
He is risen! He is risen!
Now we await the coming day,
When all those raised in Christ will say:
Give Him glory! Give Him glory!
He is risen! He is risen!
Hallelujah!

Great Country Farms

We went to the Great Country Farms in Bluemont, VA on Thursday. It was an hour drive for us but it was well worth it to get out of the city and see the country. There ended up being a total of 6 moms and 18 kids from our congregation! It was so much fun and the weather was fabulous......not to hot and not to cold!! The kids got to see so many farm animals and PLAY for hours on end.
This tractor was partially buried into the ground so the kids could get up and play on it.
Watching the ponies eat. Hayden kept putting his hand inside the fence and petting them.

Watching the lady fill the water bucket.

Petting the cow. Hayden enjoyed hearing the cow say "MOOO!"

Adelyn is all buckled in and ready to go!

Hayden wasn't for sure about this but he did a great job. Reese held on to him like a good big brother.

In the mist of corn!
This was probably the kids favorite area of the Farm. It was a covered area filled with dried corn. The kids filled dump trucks, hats, shirts, shoes, anything they could with this corn.

It was CORN fun!
Reese copied some of his friends and filled his shirt. We laughed so hard.

At one point I looked around and I couldn't find Hayden. I know it was a little scary to think what he could have gotten himself into but here is where I found him. I took a quick picture and them followed him up.

My little Mr. Independent went up and down by himself!!
We were there a total of 6 hours. They slept the entire way home! It was very peaceful!

Washington National Cathedral

It was a nice warm day on Sunday and after services we decided to go see the National Cathedral. This was our first time to go so we didn't really know what to expect. When we got inside the hall we were told it was closed due to a concert. So next time we will make sure to check the schedule online. But we did get to walk around the property and see a beautiful garden.

We made it this far.

Cherry Blossom Festival

We took a trip in to see the Cherry Blossoms on Saturday. We knew the metro would be packed so we decided to drive in and let the kids get a short nap in the van. We drove to Arlington Cemetery and walked over the bridge to the Lincoln Memorial. We had a short visit there when we got stopped by a couple who asked, "Did you go to York College?" I proudly said, "Yes!!" It was Lloyd and Shannon Seibert (I'm not to sure on the spelling) but they were at York with my parents in the late 70's!! Isn't that so funny!! Lloyd was here on a business trip and Shanon decided to join him. I'm so thankful that I went to York. It seems as though we find Yorkies wherever we go!! Oh, you are probably wondering how they knew we went to York.....of course I had on a York College sweatshirt!

After our sweet visit, we wondered on over to the Tidal Basin to see the beautiful Cherry Blossoms. We stopped for a picnic, took a family picture and headed home. We walked around 5 miles so we were beat when we got back home. For some reason the kids were wired after their nap on the way home. :-)

Our family. Hayden fell asleep and there was no waking him.

Our picnic at the Tidal Basin.

Here is a picture of the Cherry Blossom tree in our backyard.
Today we had some rain and wind that has caused the pedals to start falling off the trees. It actually looks like it is snowing. It's absolutely gorgeous! As we go out for errands and such, Adelyn will yell, "Mommy, I see a Sherry Blossoms!!" It's so cute.

Easter Party @ School

Today the little kids and I went to Reese's school for an Easter Party. Adelyn talks everyday about being big enough to go to school. So when she learned today we would join Reese, she smiled so big and it's amazing how well she fit in!! It rained outside so we did the hunt in the auditorium.
Here are some pictures of our fun!Align Center
