Hayden-14 Months

Last week Hayden started walking really well. This week he turned 14 months. I have two videos to share with you. The first is of him taking a few steps on the 3rd and the second was taken today. He has been walking like this for a few days and I'm just now getting it on video. I like to watch is face as he courageously takes another step. It's also bitter sweet because this is my last baby and he isn't going to be a baby much longer!!

I Love All There Is To See In DC!

On Saturday we got to see some sights I hadn't seen yet in DC. The Capital Visitor Center, the Supreme Court building, and The Library of Congress. I had taken a tour of the Capital in college and last March but this was the first time seeing the visitor center. Here are some pictures of our fun day.
This is a replica of what's on top of the capital dome.

Where is Reese?

Library of Congress
The Reading Room
I loved this glass tile on the ceiling.
The kids were so tired at the Library of Congress that we took about an hour break. Reese and Hayden were sound asleep. When they woke up, we went outside had a snack and went home on the metro.

Had a Great Birthday

My brother Bob was in town on my birthday! We had such a fun time hanging around the house playing with the kids, catching up from his most recent trip to Iraq, and touring around DC. Here we all are getting ready to have some cake.

It is our tradition for the family to make my cake. This ended up being the most hilarious one ever! Brad had all the ingredients laid out before he called the kids in to help. When he pulled the package out of the box to mix and it blew open...it went All over the counter!! I laughed so hard I cried. I just so happened to be filming it on the video camera! It's America's Funnies Home Video material!!
In the picture above Adelyn's whisk got caught in the mixer....NOT GOOD!! It was so much fun. We laughed so hard.
Putting sprinkles on the finished cake!

Hayden having a rice cake because he couldn't have the birthday cake...he didn't know the difference.

After the cake, we played Chutes & Ladders and Candyland.
